Armed man robs Lawncrest store

A hooded and masked man with a gun held up a Lawncrest convenience store on June 24.

Police have released surveillance video of the robbery, which occurred at 7-Eleven, 5800 Rising Sun Ave., at about 2:15 a.m. A 52-year-old man was working behind the cash register when the unknown bandit entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The crook stuffed $200 into his sweatshirt and was last seen northbound on Rising Sun. No injuries were reported.

The robber was described as black, 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds, wearing a blue hoodie with white lettering and a white T-shirt underneath, along with black pants and black shoes.
